I'm Chris Robinson, a San Francisco Bay Area photographer who finds profound beauty in the uncomplicated.
Originally from Connecticut, I began my creative journey as a toddler drawing on the walls of my childhood home, later becoming mesmerized by the magic of my mom's Kodak Instamatic camera. Those early sparks eventually led me to art school, initially as an illustration major, always with a small sketchbook in hand. As a freshman in Art History, I doodled a little character of a chicken's head on a water-drop body. The guy sitting next to me laughed and said, "Chicken Drop! That's what I'm calling you from now on."
All these years later, he's still one of my closest friends, and that little sketchbook is still on my shelf. Those drawings remind me that the most powerful creative instinct is the one that hasn't been taught to second-guess itself.
That instinct has carried me through a creative life that spans teaching art to children, painting large-scale murals, and producing national marketing campaigns, work that had to perform as well as it looked. I know that for most businesses, photography isn't decoration. It's the first impression, the trust signal, the reason someone stays on your page or keeps scrolling.
In a world increasingly flooded with generated imagery, I believe there's a growing appetite for the real thing, photographs that carry the weight of genuine observation, made by someone who has spent a lifetime learning to see. I specialize in minimalist lifestyle, brand, and product photography, working with natural light to create imagery that is honest, timeless, and entirely yours.
Working with me is meant to feel easy. I show up prepared, I listen, and I collaborate closely with you to make sure the work reflects your vision, not just mine.
